a 15 minute improvisation with Kristin, Amber, and Patricia (involving the audience!).
These ladies also performed solos before the Band played.

This big show includes 3 1-hour programs that incorporate dance, poetry, live music,
and a fashion show. Lily performed a Tribal-Fusion piece

Theatre. After the success of Esprit 2002, the Tapestry Dance Company
returns with an even more exciting world dance show.
Friday and Saturday, October 10 and 11, 2003 - Mediterranean
Festival.
Hosted by Saint Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church, this is a major
community event that features live music from all corners of the
Mediterranean, bellydancers, Mediterranean cuisine and beverages,
a bazaar, and children's activities. Starts from 6 PM - Midnight.
Bellydance performances at 7:30 and 9:30 featuring the Bint El Balad
Ensemble, Farida, and Melissa Amira.
September 6, 2003 WMD Production's Arabic Hafleh at La
Zona Rosa. Lily opened the bellydance showcase with a drum solo
performance to Sha-Awit Katie. She then performed with the Bint El Balad
Ensemble in 2 other pieces, Malfuf Ala Westi and balady piece featuring
Yasmin. Other performances included Heather in a comic relief improv to
the market song and Adrienne in a flamenco-bellydance fusion piece.

Adrienne and Lily performed to Abdul Halim Hafez's cocktail, Sha-Awit
Katie drum solo by Hossam Ramzy, and Ana Behibek pop song.
August 8, 2003 Bahaia's HOT Seminar Show is an annual bellydance
workshop held in Austin, TX with up-and-coming bellydance superstars as
guest instructors and amazing shows on Friday and Saturday nights. Lily
opened the show with Faddah, which included a butterfly veil entrance and
saidi cane segment.
She was one of several soloists at this year's show, featuring Jillina
for the second year as the guest instructor from LA.
August 2, 2003 Melissa Amira's Carousel Carvan is a biweekly
bellydance show at the Carousel Lounge (every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month).
Lily performed to Faddah by Hossam Ramzy.
June 28, 2003 COIF THIS! at the Austin Music Hall is a benefit for
the David Powell Health Center, a clinic to more than 2,000 HIV-positive
adults in the Austin area.
Members of the Bint El Balad Ensemble performed to Malfuf Ala Westi, a
drum solo piece, and a cane dance.

June 5, 2003 The Best Party Ever is an annual fundraiser
event held by Leadership
Austin. Heather, Connie, Rania, and I entertained the crowd with
Malfuf Ala Westi, beginning with improv on the floor and ending group
choreography on the stage. Our belly dance performance was a delightful
surprise for the guests.
April 18, 2003 Arabian Night at
The
Red Fez - Performances at 9:30 and 10:30 PM. Elena and I danced at
9:30 to selections from the
Raksat Baladi CD. Yasmin and Rania danced at the later show. The Moroccan-themed bar was packed even
though it was Good Friday.
April 6, 2003 Style Cup Hair Fashion Competition and Show is a
benefit for Project Transitions, which provides hospice, housing and
supportive care for people living with HIV/AIDS in Central Texas.
- Fashion show at 9:00 PM and bellydance performance at 10:30 PM at

April 4, 2003 - Solo performance at The
Pyramids Restaurant - 8:00 and 9:15 PM. Danced to: First set -
Olulu from Hossam Ramzy's Best of Abdul Halim Hafiz, Lissa
Fakir, Sha-Awit Katie
drum solo from
Hossam Ramzy's Sabla Tolo, and Zay el Hawa from Beyond the Desert.
Second set - Faddah by Hossam Ramzy, Zaina by Zakariah, and
a song by the Lebanese Madonna. Veil and finger cymbals used
throughout the two 20 minute performances.
March 8, 2003 - Solo at The
Pyramids Restaurant. Lily danced the
first set to Be Tes' Al Leh Alayya from Hossam Ramzy's El Amar,
Leilet Hob from Super Belly Dance with Mohamed Abdel Wahab, and
Sanatein Wanahayel Feek! from El Amar with finger cymbals. Lily danced
second set to Ya Amarti from Jalilah 2, Wahashtjnj from
Sami Nassour's Beyond the Desert, and Ya Amarti Final. Veil
entrance.
Febrauary 15, 2003 - Lily performed with the Bint El Balad Ensemble at the
Arabic
Hafleh. Ensemble performed to a cane dance choreography and Malfuf Ala
Westi from Hossam Ramzy's Baladi Plus.
February 2, 2003 - Solo and group performance with member of the Bint
El Balad Ensemble for the 3M Marathon. Danced
to Sanatein Wanahayel Feek! from Hossam Ramzy's El Amar CD and the
cane piece.
January 23, 2003 - Solo at the Mirage Show in the Student Union. Danced to
Sanatein Wanahayel Feek! from Hossam Ramzy's El Amar CD. Veil
entrance.
December 26, 2002 - Solo at the Helios Bar and Theatre in Houston. Danced
to various songs including, Sanatein Wanahayel Feek, Ya
Amarti, and Zaina. Finger cymbals used.
December 22, 2002 - Solo performance at the Arabic Bazaar for Christmas
Bazaar. Danced to Ya Amarti on Jalilah's Mokhtar Al Said's Amar
14. Veil entrace.
December 20, 2002 - Solo at The Rivero Family Christmas Party. Danced to
Ya Amarti on Jalilah's Mokhtar Al Said's Amar 14. Veil entrance.
November 14, 2002 - Solo performance at the Mirage Show in the Student
Union of the University of Texas. Danced to Tamra Henna Part 2 of
Jalilah's Journey of the Gypsy Dancer.
November 11, 2002 - Solo performance for surprise birthday party. Danced
to Khusara Khusara from Hossam Ramzy's the Best of Abdul Halim Hafiz.
August 9, 2002 - Group choreography (drum solo) performance to Reda's
Flower at the Bahaia's HOT Seminar with Pat Taylor's class.
June 1, 2002 - Performance at Zein's Dance Studio. Danced to Ya
Amarti with 2 other girls; improvisation.
February 2002 - Bellydance Demonstration at Robert E. Lee Elementary
School. Danced to Raksat Al Afraah from Best of Arabian Bellydance.
